About the Program
Looking for a way to make a difference in a shelter dog's life? Our Doggie Day Out program allows volunteers to take a dog out for the day or even the weekend! Take them to dog-friendly spots, on a hike, or just enjoy a relaxing day at home.By spending time with our dogs outside the shelter, you'll help them get the mental and physical exercise they need, and you'll provide us with valuable insights into their behavior.
How It Works

Call or Come by: Talk to the staff to help you choose the perfect dog to make your adventure unforgettable.

Pick Up Your Dog: Come by the shelter to meet and pick up your dog.

Explore & Enjoy: Take your dog to parks, dog-friendly cafes, or for a car ride—whatever you both enjoy!

Share Your Experience: Snap photos and take notes on how the dog behaves.

Drop Off: Bring your dog back to the shelter at the agreed-upon time.

Tell Us Everything: Share your feedback on how the day or weekend went. Did they sleep well? Get along with other pets? Were they house-trained? We want to know it all!

Who can participate in Doggie Day Out?
Volunteers aged 18+ with a valid driver's license can sign up. -
Can I keep the dog overnight?
Yes! We offer both day and weekend options. Just let us know what works best for you. -
What should I bring?
We provide everything you'll need for your outing—leash, treats, poop bags, etc. If you're taking a dog for the weekend, we'll provide food and a bed as well.
