legacy/bequests

Designating a bequest to the Washington County SPCA not only leaves a legacy in a donor's name, but it also increases the shelter's success in saving animals' lives.   The money stays in our community and helps us serve the more than 2,700 animals who come through our shelter.  Additionally, it helps our organization serve the greater Washington County area through spay/neuter  and education programs.

Bequests and donations may be designated to one of six areas:

1.    Building Fund:  This is our greatest current need.  We are currently raising money for the construction of our new facility.  We have the land which located on Highway 75 just south of Rice Creek Road.

2.    Shelter Operations:  This money is used to pay our shelter staff and run the day to day operations.  It pays for

3.    Spay/Neuter Programs:  This money helps us provide funding for spay/neuter surgeries for individuals who cannot afford to have their pets spayed/neutered.  These types of programs have already made a huge impact on the number of homeless pets.

4.    Transport Programs:  These programs help us fund the transportation of our animals to adoption events, rescue organizations or other shelters where they can find homes.

5.  Kennel Sponsorships:  Multiple kennels are availabe for sponsorship.  Each kennel can be sponsored for $1000 per year.

6.  Special needs:  Please contact the shelter if you would like to contribute to a specific item we need.
